My name is Cathy and I live in a van. I work and spend my time just outside of New York City, the suburbs of New Jersey. I had been paying rent since way back in 1999, and when I was faced with another rent increase in 2024, I decided that I was done living paycheck to paycheck, being threatened with homelessness if just a few weeks of work was missed. Other people have done it, and I love camping. So moving into my car was the best available option for me.
