Everyone can feel that things are… different. I believe that we are all at different levels of knowing; some of us trust our guts more than others. Even those that digest the morning news with their breakfast are feeling it, though. Things are… different. It’s not just the price of everything, the weather, the pace of life since quarantine. or the lack of personal touch with companies that have no real way of contacting them except online. That’s all a part of it, and yes, everyone is feeling that too. But there is something in the air, as though a big breath has been taken and we are awaiting the exhale. 

It’s coming. The beginning is near. I believe the Great Awakening has already happened, or rather, it’s begun, it has already started. People are waking up to the fact that they spend most of their time trying to make money, or thinking up ways to make money than they do with their own families, making memories. They are beginning to realize that they have only fooled themselves (or rather, been fooled by society) into believing that they are working to give their family security, when in reality, money can disappear overnight and the security you thought you had was just an illusion. 

The calendar, as we know it, was made up. I think it’s time that we make up a new calendar! I propose the year is now 0001 G.A. for the Great Awakening. I was surprised when my mother, who is an avid and faithful Catholic, fully agreed with me and has adopted to using that as well. We are all feeling that things are truly not the same as they were before. The “holy” Roman Catholic church isn’t running the show anymore, you guys. Let’s make our own date up now. I’ve already begun using it in personal missives and journal entries. Perhaps if enough of us call for it, it will happen!
